Mike has been working in cleantech for over a decade, focussing on innovations that can solve climate change and reduce skyrocketing energy prices. Prior to joining Capricorn Power in 2017, Mike excelled as a cluster mentor at the Melbourne School of Engineering and a Commercial Cleantech Consultant. Mike has a knack for accelerating the growth of forward-thinking start-ups through solid financial management, considered commercialisation and relationship building. Mike is excited by Dr Barton’s brilliant technology and driven to create a greener world for future generations.

Noel is a renowned global leader in the development of heat engine technology. He describes himself as “an incurable optimist, convinced that a brighter techno-economic future is available for mankind”. Noel established Capricorn Power in November 2016, driven to take advantage of engineering developments to more effectively convert thermal energy into power. Prior to this, Noel had a long and successful career at CSIRO. Noel is a Member of the Order of Australia and a proud recipient of the CSIRO Medal for outstanding research achievement in software development.

Ross established Austeng over 30 years ago, a boutique engineering firm that specialises in the design, development and building of customised electro-mechanical systems. Over three decades, Ross has partnered with clients to introduce their cutting edge technology to increasingly competitive global markets. Ross’s flair for innovation coupled with a brilliant business mind, has cemented his place as a leader in the engineering design industry. In 2010, Ross was inducted as a Fellow of the Institute of Engineering Australia in recognition of his sustained contribution to major engineering projects.

Rowan joined the team in April 2018 to help lead our projects and accelerate the growth of Capricorn Power. Rowan loves working with revolutionary start-ups to commercialise their new energy technologies. As Director of the Victorian Energy Incubator, Rowan connects clean energy innovators with collaborators, laboratories, workshops and funding opportunities. Rowan also inspires Master of Engineering students through his lectures on innovative engineering at The University of Melbourne.

Geoff has been passionate about the environment since primary school so it’s no surprise that he has become a leader in using technology to combat climate change and conserve resources. Geoff enjoys the mental challenge of finding better ways to do things and thrives on the challenges of implementing new technologies. In 1991, Geoff established Genesis Now, a company that partners with Australian businesses to reduce energy consumption and costs. Geoff is an Advisory Panel Member for the Australian Renewable Energy Agency (ARENA) and a Director of Airlift Hovercraft.
Lyn began practicing law in 1984 with a focus on commercial litigation and insolvency law. After meeting her husband Ross, Lyn immersed herself in Austeng, the family-business that specialises in the design, engineering and development of customised electro-mechanical systems. As Austeng’s Corporate Director, Lyn was immensely proud to see the company inducted into the Victorian Manufacturing Hall of Fame in 2009 for its outstanding contribution to the engineering industry. Lyn is Chair of the Geelong Manufacturing Council and an Advisory Member of Deakin University’s ManuFutures innovation hub.
As owner of Primaform for over 23 years, Peter has provided a broad range of business development services to clients all over Australia and South East Asia. Peter is an expert at vetting companies for their development opportunities, ensuring long term viability and success. Primaform has served a project leader for four major projects for the Victorian State Government and is currently focussed on commercialising a range of clean technologies by offering capital raising services through Snowy River Innovation Pty Ltd. We are thrilled to have Peter’s expertise and support as we commercialise the revolutionary Barton Engine.
